Government in the Department of Jails had been considering the issue of streamlining the process of prompt disposal of petitions filed in the Department and its regional / field offices under the Rights to Information Act, 2005.
After careful consideration, it has been decided that the Officers notified in the following table will be designated as various authorities for the Department of Jails and its regional / field offices under the RTI Act. This notification issues under Sub Sections 1 & 2 of Section 5 of the RTI Act, 2005 and takes immediate effect.
