As a follow up of this Department’s Notification No. 422/JL/O/IA-2/09 dated 13.04.2009 designating SPIO & SAPIO of respective offices / public authority, it is further clarified that the head of individual office under the Department of Jails / Prisons Directorate will also act as the Public Information Officer in relation to the office under his/her command.

Accordingly, all Superintendents of the Correctional Homes will act as Public Information Officer in relation to the Correctional Home under his/her charge.

This shall also apply to the Principal, Training Institute, Medinipur and he will act as PIO for the Centre.

Name, designation and other particulars of the Public Information Officer may be suitably published as per provision of Sub-Section (1)(b)(xvi_ of Section 4 of the RTI Act, 2005.
