Training of Officers

It was felt for sometime that the training of officers in different ranks of West Bengal Correctional Services must start. This was so all the more, ever since the enforcement of the West Bengal Correctional Services Act. This new law has bestowed a new role upon the correctional officers in the State. And the new role makes it necessary for the correctional staff to learn to handle the new responsibilities. They are after all no longer just jailors but correctional staff in charge of ensuring that each and every inmate receives the proper treatment for his correction. Obviously, this new role demanded that we train the correctional staff in a systematic manner.
